Bike Friendly Kalamazoo - All Kids Bike Kindergarten PE Program
Bike Friendly Kalamazoo
Bike Friendly Kalamazoo
Bike Friendly Kalamazoo is dedicated to making the Kalamazoo area even more bicycle friendly (and safer).
This year they will help launch the All Kids Bike Kindergarten PE Program in more area schools. BFK's goal is to expand the program so that every child in Greater Kalamazoo's elementary schools learn how to ride a bike in kindergarten physical education (PE) class. The program includes the necessary bicycles, helmets, a proven standardized eight-lesson curriculum, teacher training & certification and other materials to get kids interested in cycling and so they learn how to ride safely.
Bike Friendly Kalamazoo has already gained commitment to move ahead from a number of area schools once each school receives sufficient funding. The process is fairly simple after that because schools will receive the program -- at no cost -- to the extent the community is willing to show their support.
Your contributions will help reach even more kids, ignite their love of bicycling -- and grow into future cyclists!
