Open Roads will welcome the incoming Afghan refugee population to Kalamazoo by giving adults and students in need a new bicycle. We see this as a means of improving bike equity in Kalamazoo, and as a means to help newly settled folks to navigate the community before they can get a car or a license.

They anticipate being able to provide 6-10 new bicycles each year to the refugee population, in coordination with Bethany Christian Services, a local non-profit who specializes in helping folks settle, find homes, work and community.
