Trailblazing Grants
Great Lakes. Great Trails.
In Michigan, we might be known for our great lakes, but every year our top quality trails attract riders from around the country. The League of Michigan Bicyclists wants to provide a concentrated effort from bicyclists and supporters around the state to fund and support trail building projects.
This grant fund is brand new and we're raising funding to get it started. The grants will be similar to LMB's current granting program, which you can read more about here, including past awardees.
How can I fund trails?
- Purchase a Michigan Mountain Biking Alliance T-shirt (see design below, click here to go to the store to purchase). All proceeds from sales, aside from production costs, transaction fees, and shipping, will be put in to the Trailblazing Grant Fund.
- Fundraise! Utilize the fundraising abilities of this page to form teams with your bike club, mountain bike association, or fundraise as an individual. Even small donations add up to big funds for trail projects! If you raise at least $150, we'll give you a shirt as a thank you.
- Give a donation - use the button at the top of the page to give a donation directly to the trail fund.
About the shirt
The shirts are a Canvas Bella Softstyle shirt in dark gray heather, unisex and women's available, sizes XS - 4XL. They're $25 and all of the proceeds go to the trail fund.
What kinds of projects will donations fund?
This grant fund will support trail and trail related projects in Michigan. We'll accept requests for :
- Trail projects (new trails or maintenance of existing trails)
- Tools and equipment
- Trail maps/signage/wayfinding
- Pump tracks and skills parks
- Features (berms, bridges, drops, etc)
Who can apply for trailblazer grants?
All donations and proceeds from sales of the shirt, aside from production costs, transaction fees and shipping expenses, will be put into the Trailblazing Grant fund, accessible by mountain biking associations and other trail building entities in Michigan.
